Houston or Harris County, here's some good news: HOYO IS HERE!
The
Houston Home of Your Own Coalition offers three innovative programs to help people with disabilities overcome the most common
barriers to homeownership. You may be eligible for one or more of these exciting programs:
Up to $15,000. for families with gross annual income under 80% AMI
- $25,000 for families, gross annual income under 50% AMI
- 1 person in the family with any documented
disability
- Not have owned a home within the past 3 years
- Have a social security number
- Buy homes anywhere in Harris county outside city limits of Houston, Ft. Bend or Montgomery county
- Pre-approved for conventional 30 year fixed-rate loan
- Attend Homebuyer’s Education class
Down payment and closing
cost assistance for qualified buyers is available through funds from the City of Houston and other local sources. Funds may
also be available from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.

Be Eligible!
To be eligible for HOYO assistance, you must: Have a documentable disability; Meet income
guidelines; Qualify for mortgage financing and be able to make some contribution
towards the down payment and upfront fees from your own funds; and Complete
the HOYO orientation and homebuyer education classes.
